is it possible to make a battery pack?
i was wondering if could make a battery pack out of 8 rechargeable AA batteries (1.2V 2650mah NiMH batteryes). like the ones used by RC cars, airsoft guns, toy planes etc. I'll use electrical tape to hold them together.i know how to make it, i just want to know if its safe if i use it on my airsoft gun.

it sounds like you could but even if you could make one it would be like an RC Car Battery and they don't seem to discharge as much as a real airsoft battery. For the best performance with an airsoft gun get an intellect 9.6 volt 1600 mah mini/small type battery with a mini type connector.
I did a test with an old plastic gearbox from a firepower mp5 where I compared the use of the 7.2 Volt Battery that came with it, a 9.6 volt rc battery, and my airsoft Intellect 9.6 volt battery. The 7.2 volt was normal, the 9.6 volt rc battery was a very fast rate of fire, but when I tried my intellect, the motor made a spark and kept stopping every 2 shots. My point is that a real airsoft battery discharges a lot more and will work a lot better than an RC battery or the one you want to make, but you have to be using a real airsoft gun like an Echo1, G&G, AGM, Classic Army and many other guns with metal gearboxes.
The only problem with an intellect is that if you use it on a cheap $50 firepower with a plastic gearbox and a weak little motor, it will ruin your gun awfully fast.
With my echo1, AGM, and A&K it works excellan though
